Group Rules
Rankings in each group shall be determined as follows:
Win 20 points, Lose: 0 points, tie no result 1 point.
(a) Greater number of points in group
(b) Most wins in group
(c) Net Run rate
(d) Highest number of wickets per ball
(e) The drawing of lots
The top two teams advance to the Super 8.
If the two teams finish in non seed order they will keep their position in the super 8 games. ie if RSA finish above Aus, Aus will still be in A1 position in the Super 8 round.
If one seeded team does not qualify the other team will take their alloted seeded place.
eg if Ireland come second in the group and WI come first, Ireland will qualify as D1 in place of Pakistan and WI will qualify as D2.
Results between the two teams in each group will count in the super 8.
How is Net Run Rate calculated for Duckworth Lewis decided games?
Here is description from: http://www.thetwenty20cup.co.uk/pages/format.asp
Only those matches where results are achieved will count for the purpose of net run rate calculations. Where a match is abandoned, but a result is achieved under Duckworth/Lewis, for net run rate purposes Team 1 will be accredited with Team 2's Par Score on abandonment off the same number of overs faced by Team 2. Where a match is concluded but with Duckworth/Lewis having been applied at an earlier point in the match, Team 1 will be accredited with 1 run less than the final Target Score for Team 2 off the total number of overs allocated to Team 2 to reach the target.
eg Pakistan got 132 from 50 overs and lost because Ireland got 133 from 41.4 overs.
Ireland needed 127 from 47 overs.
Pakistan are awarded 127 runs from 47 overs which is actually better than 132 from 50, but they're out so it doesn't really matter.
